This Moment is what Counts

Living each moment to the fullest can be difficult because we tend to think more about the past or the future. The past can be good or bad depending on our choices or the situations we lived through. The future can give us hope or fear depending on what we feel is coming our way. Is it possible to Seek God to our best ability if we are focused on the past or the future and not living in the current moment? Probably not, so what should we do?

1 I will always praise the Lord.

2 With all my heart,

I will praise the Lord.

Let all who are helpless,

listen and be glad.

3 Honor the Lord with me!

Celebrate his great name.

Psalm 34:1–3 (CEV)

The current moment is where we live. We can’t relive the past, and we can’t fully control the future, but we can choose to seek God right now. Despite everything that’s ever happened or what will ever happen, it can’t change the opportunity to worship the Lord right now. One of the most significant internal desires we have is to know and understand our purpose in life. The truth is that we all have a common purpose: to worship the Lord. Circumstances will change, but one thing will never change: God is still God and worthy of our adoration.

In our lives, certainty is fleeting, but there is one thing we can know for sure: There is a moment coming when we will meet Jesus face to face. After that, everything else will seem very distant and non-important. Our current lives should be lived knowing that day is coming. Knowing that we will stand in the presence of God should affect our day-to-day living. Our past should not hold us back anymore, and our thoughts toward our future will always take us to the presence of the Lord, which means we have nothing to fear or regret in this life. He is worthy of our praise and worship!

7 But we live by faith, not by what we see. 8 We should be cheerful, because we would rather leave these bodies and be at home with the Lord. 9 But whether we are at home with the Lord or away from him, we still try our best to please him. 10 After all, Christ will judge each of us for the good or the bad that we do while living in these bodies

2 Corinthians 5:7–10 (CEV)

Make each moment count because one day, we will stand in His presence and give an account of the lives we have lived. The best we can do is live a life of worship and praise that moves us into action according to His will. We can’t allow our past or fear of the future to stop us from Seeking Him each and every moment. Praise God that one day we will see Him face to face.
